CREATE A VISUAL DREAM JOURNAL – OR SIMPLY A VISUAL JOURNAL ~ for a deeper understanding of your inner world
May 6 – June 3
I’m fascinated by dreams and have been paying more attention lately, wondering how the virus and isolation is affecting mine. Also, a book that I have recently enjoyed “In Love with the World” by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche has a chapter called “Of Sleep and Dreams” that I thought was interesting and made me re-visit my own dream journal. I have also been reading and listening to others who have studied dreams and I share more about that in the course.
This turbulent time in our world is a time ripe for going within and seeing what is being activated in your psyche. What needs attention? What, if any fears are arising and how does that look in your dreams? My dream journals are one of my favorite tools for getting into my unconscious and subconscious. If you have no art training it’s a fun way to play around with color. If you have done some art it is a fun practice for translating what is in your mind’s eye onto paper or practicing translating feelings into images or just use simple brush or pen strokes to let your images flow.
You can choose to participate by writing down your dreams if you prefer- use the course as a way of setting intention to have and remember your dreams. You are also welcome to mix up the writing and artwork.
No fancy materials are needed.
The course will run over a period of 4 weeks, enough time to invite in and allow for any potent dream images. This course is open to everyone- no experience necessary.
What you get:
- Initial introductory zoom call (approximately 30 minutes) explaining how to proceed
- Email with reminders of suggested ways to proceed along with list of inexpensive suggested supplies as well as sources on dream studies
- Follow up zoom call inviting you to share about your experience and share journal entries if you like
- Like minded community of souls to share with- a new tribe!
What it can do for you:
- Help you to connect with messages from your unconscious and spirit guides
- Give or deepen experience with your art skills
- Hold you accountable to show up often to either create an image or just put pen to paper
- Connect you with like minded art tribe members
- Give you a better understanding of your dreams
Zoom calls April 29~ 8 PM Eastern Time May 27 ~ 8 PM Eastern time
I record the calls if you cannot make it in person.
“Art is a spiritual inner journey for me and your e-course is a perfect fit for encouragement to go within, The sacred circle reminds us of our sense of oneness, love and support for each other as women on a path to fuller expression. In your instruction, you come from a place of great respect and love for each opening flower and freely give of your spiritual midwifery. Others may talk of technique but without the spiritual connection there is not the vibrancy and inner stirring to join in the dance. You are certainly qualified to teach us all aspects of technique but go beyond that to light our inner flame. Yes, we are women on fire!! Ruth C – Gloucester, MA
“Creative expression (painting, creative journaling) AND meditation “saved” me by igniting passion and helping me let go of a job that was suffocating me. Working through fear and insecurities, I am now intentionally giving attention to things that bring me joy.. Those in this online circle inspire and motivate me daily.” Melissa – your invitations / assignments are fabulous – always “stretch” us to process or express something we may or may not have in a different way! Thank you! Kate B Richmond, VA
“I have never been a part of a group like this before. It is very special, sharing life, loves, and art with all of you. I have loved the friendships, support, and learning experiences with like-minded creative souls. I truly care about these women, and appreciate their opening up and sharing life experiences through the venue of this group. It has been better than I ever could have expected. It is become a sacred, special part of my life. Sallie W – Tallahassee, FL
