Melissa Harris is well-known in the Goddess community for her beautiful greeting cards and prints, featuring her exquisitely colored impressionist paintings celebrating womanspirit in all its glorious forms. Now Melissa has expanded her offerings with two more creative products. First are her Creatrix Candles, 3.5-inch tall pillar candles that are ingeniously made to burn down through the center while leaving the outer layer intact. This outer layer showcases Melissa’s lovely art in a sugary sparkly band, with an affirmation message at the bottom. In one, a woman stands surrounded by butterflies in golden hues, with swirls of lavender and blue forming her graceful gown, arms uplifted in invocation. The words read: In opening to the abundance of the Universe, anything is possible! When the candle’s core has burned down, you can add a tea light or votive to keep the flame a-glow. A great addition to your altar or anywhere you could use a little Goddess illumination. Candles are $13.95 each, in eight different designs. Also new from Melissa is the wonderful Goddess on the Go deck, with text by Amy Sophia Marashinsky. I love these cards for so many reasons: let me count the ways! First, the 33 cards are small, just 2.25 by 3.25 inches, easy to shuffle and easy to slip into your smallest purse to take with you that’s the “on the Go” part. The “Goddess” part is evident in the beautiful watercolors that accompany the simple affirmations. Melissa’s gift is to be able to evoke an emotion joy, reverence, wonder, love through the use of colors and shapes that are perfect in their simplicity. The affirmations by Amy Sophia blend with the art to make a tool you will use every day and find something new each time you do. I’ve been choosing a daily card to be part of my desk altar, with uplifting and strengthening thoughts such as “I am trusting my inner guidance,” “I am dancing my own dance,” “I am the beauty of the Goddess,” and “I am taking the time I need” (I might have that last one tattooed on my forehead!). You’re going to want to buy this deck for every Goddess-woman you know, I promise, and be sure to get one for yourself too. $12 per deck, which includes a small booklet and a sturdy box. Highly recommended. |
